April Lockhart
April Lockhart born 4 July 1995. She started the guitar and piano lessons in 7th grade which sparked the interest of her. April Lockhart wrote her first song"Different" at twelve years old. She spent lots of time when she was 14 writing songs and practicing the piano. She began writing with her dad at home in NY and LA shortly after. April was the month that she began to write about other issues in the book, Take My Hand, for her friends who were dealing with peer pressure, disabilities or even suicide. Lockhart is a partner at the well-known cosmetics brand Ilia and is also an influencer in the lifestyle industry with a huge following of her own. Lockhart was born with no left hand, and it's part of who she is--but that's not the entire story. Lockhart's profile on Twitter doesn't conceal the fact that she is disabled and does not concentrate on the fact that she is disabled. What message does it convey? The message is: We all have many identities, we're way more diverse than we think that we're. Lockhart says in a video interview with Lockhart via video "I don't think that should define my character. It's not my intention to influence disability, because I've many more things to contribute." My everyday life isn't affected by it. I lead a normal, everyday life and find myself solutions for problems. This is a major element of my life and it's imperative that we talk about the subject. The journey of self-acceptance that Lockhart has taken will be one that lasts a lifetime, but she can be a role model with regard to this. Still, she acknowledges going through phases of being uncomfortable with her body and feeling uneasy wearing certain clothing styles which showed her arms. She dresses according to her preferences and proudly posts pictures of herself dressed in outfits she chooses on social platforms. Self-love, she says is a journey. It's not clear when you'll reach the point of no return. But, this isn't the case with anyone with doubts. I believe having friends around you who really know you and see the depths of your soul is vital since they'll be those who will remind you what you worried about?
