Anna Leigh Ashford

Annaleigh Amanda Ashford (born April 14 in 1980) is an American actor, singer as well as a dancer. As a young actress, she appeared in Broadway role, she was in Wicked Legally Blonde Hair. In her performance as Essie In You Can't Take It With You she was awarded the Tony Award. Annaleigh Ashford is a Tony Award winner actor has worked with many famous directors and actors in stage films and television. She continues this award-winning career through her forthcoming projects. Ashford in the near future will play opposite Kumail Robert Siegel's Hulu exclusive show Welcome to Chippendales which premieres November 22. Ashford is currently working for Searchlight Pictures' horror thriller Dust starring opposite Sarah Paulson and Ebon Moss-Bachrach. The movie will air on Disney DTC as an Hulu Original. Ashford returns to Broadway in the month of March 2023 with the role of Josh Groban opposite Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd. The production will be held at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre. Thomas Kail as director and Jeffrey Seller as producer will be the creative team for the production. Ashford appeared as Paula Jones most recently in Ryan Murphy FX's American Crime Story Impeachment, which is based on the scandal which was involving Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky Linda Tripp during the national crisis. She starred in two seasons of cult CBS comedy B Positive. It was produced by Chuck Lorre with Marco Pennette. It featured Linda Lavin Sheryl Crow, Hector Elizondo as well as Ben Vereen. Ashford is no stranger to Broadway. Her portrayal of Essie in You Can't Take It with You was a winner of the Tony Drama Desk Awards and Outer Critics Circle Awards. She has also appeared in Broadway as a character in Sunday in the Park With George Wicked, Legally Blonde as well as the original character in the role of Lauren in Kinky Boots for which she received a nomination for the Tony Award. Ashford is a Denver resident who splits his time between Los Angeles.
