Laura Linney has been hailed as one of America's top acclaimed actors. Linney is renowned as a strong actress that are also at risk. Her father was a celebrated writer, however Linney was raised as an all-only child by her single-mother and nurse. In the summer and with her father Linney discovered a love for the theatre. She eventually studied acting first in Brown University then at Juilliard School. Starting her acting career on the Broadway shortly after her graduation, she appeared in films within two years and on television following a year. In the years since she has appeared in a variety of TV productions, films and stage plays. Throughout her career, she's won several awards. Some of them includes two Golden Globe Awards and four Primetime Emmy Awards as well as three Academy Award nominations and five Tony Award nominations. Her nominations include five Tony Awards and three Oscar Awards nominations. However, despite her awards and accolades, the theatre is still her passion and she'll continue to act on both the stage and on screen.
