Katherine Heigl has opened up about growing up within "a the white bubble." She also explains how this experience has affected the way she raises adopted children that are multiracial. In an interview with her, Katherine Heigl said recent interview that, in terms of skin colour, it doesn't really matter. After speaking with her adopted sister by South Korea she realized just how differently society treats people of different races. "I inquired of Meg whether she felt that she was treated differently when going out with our parents and the times she was out by herself. She answered, "Oh yeah, always!" Heigl spoke to Parents about the moment she realised the naivety of her actions. The actor said she became upset, but she felt that she had use that anger to help adopt her daughters. Heigl has a four-year old son who is married to her 13 year old wife, Josh Kelley. Their child Nancy Leigh was adopted from South Korea by the couple in 2009; Adalaide is a Black 8-year old girl that was adopted by the couple in 2012.
